Mama Uka

Born on August 18, 1991, in the vibrant town of Amachalla in Enugu-Ezike (Enugu State), Chukwueze Odinaka grew up with a flair for humor and a knack for imitating his elders. Today, he’s famously known across Nigeria and beyond as Mama Uka — the hilarious “old woman” who’s always ready to dish out wisdom with a twist of laughter.

Humble Beginnings & Education

Before Mama Uka became a household name, young Odinaka was just another mischievous child in a large family — second to the last, to be precise. He completed his primary and secondary education locally before heading off to the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, where he earned a degree in Computer Science. But clearly, he was coding up more than just programs — he was scripting his future in comedy.

From Campus Clown to Comedy Icon

While juggling studies at IMT in 2016, Odinaka put on a scarf, bent his back, changed his voice, and Mama Uka was born. Inspired by creative forces like Lasisi Elenu and Tyler Perry, he started posting skits online — and they hit like wildfire. With his signature look as a wise-cracking, no-nonsense elderly woman, Mama Uka tackled daily Nigerian experiences with humor and relatability.

Today, he commands a loyal army of over 2.8 million fans on Facebook alone, delivering belly-aching laughter straight from the “village matriarch” to your timeline. But don’t let the wig and wrapper fool you — Mama Uka is also a talented singer and producer with versatility beyond skits.

Love, Laughter & a Bit of Heartbreak

Behind the jokes is a man who’s had his fair share of drama — real-life drama. Mama Uka was in a long-term relationship with Dera, the mother of his daughter. But their love story took a cinematic turn on Valentine’s Day 2022 when he traveled all the way to Enugu, ring in pocket, ready to propose. Sadly, she was nowhere to be found. His search led him to Ntachi Osa, a popular food joint, where he unexpectedly found her — with another man.

That moment became a turning point, as he later revealed how the relationship, which started back in 2015, had been full of ups, downs, and deep disappointments. Yet, through it all, Mama Uka remains grounded, focusing on his craft and raising his daughter.

The Legacy of Laughter

More than just a funny character, Mama Uka represents resilience, creativity, and the power of digital storytelling. Whether he’s mimicking your typical Nigerian auntie or schooling youths with elder wisdom, one thing’s certain — he’s not just playing dress-up. He’s building a comedic empire, one laugh at a time.
