Bovi Ugboma

Bovi Ugboma is one of Nigeria’s top comedians. Born and raised in Benin City, the vibrant capital of Edo State, Bovi’s journey began with a typical Nigerian upbringing grounded in discipline and education. He started his academic life at the University of Benin Staff School, before moving on to Government College, Ughelli, in Delta State. However, concerns about his development led his parents to transfer him back to Benin, where he briefly attended Edokpolor Grammar School.
Still searching for the right environment, Bovi eventually landed at Boys Model Secondary School, Onicha Olona, a full-boarding institution, which finally provided the structure he needed. In 1998, he was admitted to Delta State University, where he pursued a degree in Theatre Arts—a decision that would later serve as the bedrock of his creative career.
